Rameen Beroukhim, M.D. Ph.D. - Principal Investigator

Rameen is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School.  He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge in England and his M.D. from the University of California, San Francisco.

Bluye DeMessie - Undergraduate Student

Bluye is currently an undergraduate student in Biology at Harvard University. He is studying the response and resistance to BET bromodomain inhibitors in medulloblastoma.

Brenton Paolella, Ph.D

Brenton received his B.S. from University of New Hampshire and Ph.D. from Dartmouth Medical School. His is working to identify and validate cancer gene dependencies that are associated with copy-number alterations.

Caitlin Nichols, B.S. - PhD Candidate

Caitlin received her B.S. from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. She studies copy number changes in cell-essential genes and telomere-maintenance genes as novel therapeutic windows in cancer.

Jeremiah Wala, M.S.-M.D.-Ph.D Student, Computational Cancer Genomics

Jeremiah received his B.S. and M.S. from Cornell University in Engineering Physics before joining the Harvard MD-PhD program in 2010. He is interested in sequence assembly and alignment, novel methods for detecting structural variants in cancer, and developing mathematical models to identify positive selection for rearrangements.

Meredith Brown, B.A. - Research Assisant

Meredith received her B.A. in molecular biology and genetics from Skidmore College. She is currently studying copy-number loss of essential genes as a non driver-dependent, novel cancer therapy. Her interests include transcriptional regulation and epigenetic modifications affecting gene expression.

Ruben Ferrer-Luna, Ph.D. - Postdoctoral Fellow

Ruben received his M.Sc. from Spanish National Cancer Research Center and Ph.D. from the University of Valencia in Spain. He is now studying genomic approaches to selection of therapeutics.

Ryan receieved his BS in Animal Science from the University of Vermont. He is working on pediatric brain tumor projects while preparing his application for medical school.

Uri Ben-David, Ph.D. - Postdoctoral Fellow

Uri earned his B.Sc. and Ph.D. from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He is studying the cellular origins, functional consequences and potential vulnerabilities of aneuploidy and chromosomal instability in cancer.

Peleg Horowitz, M.D. Ph.D. - Postdoctoral Fellow

Peleg received his M.D. and Ph.D. at Northwestern University and is currently in the Neurosurgery residency program at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.  He is studying the somatic genetics of brain cancers.

Travis Zack, PhD - Medical Student

Travis received his Bachelor’s degree at the University of California, Berkeley and his PhD from Harvard in Biophysics.  Travis studied the interactions between genetic events, and the specific dependencies implied by these events. He is now pursuing his medical doctorate at Harvard Medical School.
